Aged Care Design

Backed by years of experience, Gilmore Interior Design is an expert in interior design for aged care facilities. Our prime consideration, when designing, is to create a comfortable home for the residents. In the last decade, there has been a shift away from the institutional model of care (traditionally based on a nursing hierarchy) to a more person-centred care set in a home environment.

With a research-led approach, our designs respond to this shift by balancing aesthetics with the practicality of design that an ageing facility requires. From concept to completion, we are involved in every stage of the project process.  Every project is delivered on time, on budget and on brief.

Our Clients

“The Gilmore design team have proven time and time again that they listen to their client’s needs and deliver a quality finish that meets the brief. Their work is delivered on time and they are a delight to deal with. I would highly recommend the Gilmore team for any aged care projects.”
Deborah Key Chief Executive Officer | Bankstown City Aged Care
"PAC has been privileged to work with GID for more than a decade now. The Terraces at Paddington is a landmark aged care and retirement living development for PAC. We were looking for a classy interior design which incorporated quality plus the attention to the detail of aged care and dementia design; both much needed for the modern aged care resident. GID have achieved all that and much more. This project is unquestionably our best product to date.”
Paul Sadler Chief Executive Officer | Presbyterian Aged Care NSW & ACT
"The finished product at Crace is exceptional. The quality of the interior design is commented upon by everyone who visits and our new residents are totally satisfied with their new, sophisticated and chic apartments and lifestyle club…their (Gilmore Interior Design) experience and understanding of the brief has delivered a senior lifestyle apartment complex with a timeless quality and cosmopolitan living at its best."
Jim Purcell Executive Manager Retirement Living | Goodwin Aged Care
"From inception the Randwick campus was designed to be the finest available and it was therefore important to utilise a design team that had the same vision and passion as the organisation. We have found the team responsive to our brief and they have produced a new level of design style in aged care, while still adhering to the code requirements and necessary durability Most importantly though, the residents love the environment and this has been most significant particularly within the dementia area where the staff have reported improved behavioural characteristics by the resident."
Robert Orie CEO | Sir Moses Montefiore Jewish Home
"Presbyterian Aged Care has again, recently, used the interior design services of Gilmore Design, for our refurbishment project at our residential aged care facility at Stockton. The facility location, near the river and the ocean, formed the basis for a design palette that combined the local natural elements in colour, design and form. All the staff and residents are absolutely thrilled with the beautiful results that have been achieved by Jenny Gilmore and her team, with the careful and skilled attention to detail that was shown to the colours, fittings and furnishings that have achieved a co-ordinated, peaceful and semi-relaxed “liveable environment” for all to enjoy."
Pauline Solomons Executive Manager | Presbyterian Aged Care
